§ 01How a Claude engagement works

Jourier builds a Model Context Protocol server over your Data Hub and points Claude at it. Claude sees typed tools rather than a chat box with a spreadsheet pasted into it: search, read, query. Every response is deterministic and every figure resolves to rows you can open.

The MCP server reads the same modelled layer that feeds your dashboards. One definition, many consumers, so Claude answers with the numbers your team already sees rather than a second version of them.

Access is scoped to what that user is allowed to see, and the connection is read-only unless you ask for otherwise. Self-hosted models are available, so your data never leaves the EU.

§ 03Why MCP

MCP is an open protocol for letting an assistant call a real tool instead of guessing. Jourier exposes each connected system as a set of typed tools, so the model retrieves the number rather than composing it. That is the whole reason the answer can be trusted: the model never computes the figure, so it cannot invent one. Jourier does not resell Claude; your contract stays where it is.

Does Claude see all of my data?

No. Access is scoped per user, to exactly what that person is allowed to see in the underlying systems. The MCP server enforces it rather than trusting the model to respect it.

Can Claude change anything in my systems?

Not by default. The connection is read-only. Write tools exist and can be added deliberately, per system and per user, but nothing is writable unless you ask for it.

Can Claude invent a number?

It retrieves rather than computes, so a figure in an answer came from a row. That row can be opened. This is the whole reason for using tools instead of pasting exports into a prompt.

Does my data go to Anthropic?

That depends on which model you run. With hosted Claude, the retrieved rows form part of the conversation. Self-hosted models are available for teams that need the data to stay on EU infrastructure, and Jourier hosts in Finland.

Which clients does this work with?

Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client. MCP is an open protocol, so the same server serves all of them without a separate build for each.

Does this require Claude specifically?

No. The same MCP server serves ChatGPT and any other compatible client. Jourier does not resell model access, so your contract stays with whoever provides it.
